Harvey brings you the Blue Pipe Thread Compound, which is a non-hardening, non-drip gray thread compound designed to lubricate and seal threaded joints on metal pipes. This pipe joint compound can be used on lines carrying water, steam, or air. They do not contain lead. This compound never hardens on pipe joints, and hence the joints separate easily. The thread compound prevents corrosion of the threads at pipe joints. This pipe thread compound is thixotropic in that its viscosity decreases when it is agitated, and it flows and can be cast into a mold, but in the absence of vibration, it is quite rigid. Note: Do not apply to plastic threads. Use Harvey's TFE Paste or PTFE Tape on plastic-threaded joints.
